IoF – Institute of Fundraising
The Institute of Fundraising is a registered charity founded in 1983 and is the professional membership body for UK fundraising. The IoF’s mission is to support fundraisers, through leadership, representation, standards-setting and education, to deliver excellent fundraising. The Institute provides Codes of Fundraising Practice for each form of fundraising and a Code of Conduct by which all members are expected to abide.
PFO – Professional Fundraising Organisation
Payroll Giving is promoted within workplaces by a number of Professional Fundraising Organisations or charities. The main PFO’s within the UK are:
PGA – Payroll Giving Agency
Payroll Giving is operated by several agencies which do the administration and processing to link the donations to the correct charities. Employers have to choose which agency to operate
with and may not pay the charities directly. BDM has excellent relationships with all the UK’s main PGA’s.
PGQM – Payroll Giving Quality Mark
The Quality Mark acknowledges Payroll Giving has been implemented and demonstrates (both within the organisation and publicly) that the organisation is committed to the good causes its employees care about. Depending on the take up of the scheme, employers may be eligible for either a Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond Quality Mark Award.
PGSIG – Payroll Giving Special Interest Group
The Payroll Giving Special Interest Group is an IOF group bringing together charities working within Payroll Giving and acts as a forum to share new ideas and best practice.
ROI – Return on Investment
This relates directly to the bottom line of why the Charity recruits its donors. Using data provided from the Charity, BDM can provide detailed reports on ROI to ensure that you are maximising the true potential of your donors.
